ATRI's Operational Costs of Trucking
How do your fleet’s costs compare to your peers? This session provides an opportunity to gain valuable insight about the efficiency of your operations relative to your peers. Rebecca Brewster will discuss the latest trends gleaned from the American Transportation Research Institute’s annual cost benchmarking report, the Operational Costs of Trucking, which uses financial data provided directly by for-hire trucking fleets nationwide to document and analyze trucking costs on vehicle- and driver-based line items.
See how your fleet is performing against the nation’s top fleets and how you can improve your own benchmarking processes. Immediately following Brewster’s discussion, the ATA will host companion follow-up breakout benchmarking sessions. The ATA’s sessions will be tailored to provide advice for fleets according to their size and type.

Lease and Finance Strategies to Maintain Your Fleet
Maximizing end-of-life asset value is a challenge for many small and mid-size fleets. This session will discuss proven strategies for overcoming issues related to truck replacement and equipment disposal. For example, cash flow problems might be addressed by turning to short-term equipment rentals or longer-term equipment leasing. If purchasing, longer-term financing or less expensive spec’ing options might do the trick. We’ll also present ideas for building a more effective return on investment (ROI) strategy, such as finding ways to extend service life or achieve longer amortization.
